Our unit is a place of comfort and tranquillity. We kindly ask that you treat the property, its amenities and those around you with the same care and respect you would expect in your own home.

Upon Arrival

To help you settle in comfortably:

  1. Switch on the geyser when required.
  2. Switch on the stove and gas supply when required.
  3. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy your stay.

Shared Outdoor Patio

The shared outdoor patio is available for guests to enjoy and relax. As this is a shared space, please be considerate of other residents by keeping noise to a minimum and leaving the area clean and tidy after use.

Metlife Shopping Centre and other nearby shops provide access to everyday essentials. Woolworths Food is also conveniently located nearby.

Food & Dining:
A selection of restaurants, takeaways, coffee shops and bakeries are available within a short drive.

Local masajid are situated nearby for your salaah and convenience.

Everyday Convenience:
ATMs, petrol stations, pharmacies, medical facilities and other essential services are located within the surrounding area.

The unit offers convenient access to main routes and local transport options.

Respect & Care of the Property

We kindly ask all guests to:

  1. Treat the property, furniture, appliances and amenities with care.
  2. Keep the unit reasonably clean and tidy throughout your stay.
  3. For your comfort and the best sleeping experience, we recommend showering before bed.
  4. Report any maintenance issues, damage or repairs to management as soon as possible.
  5. Use toiletries, cleaning products and other complimentary essentials thoughtfully and responsibly.

Guests may be held responsible for damage, breakages or losses caused during their stay.

Consideration for Other Guests & Neighbours

Daarut Taskeen is intended to be a peaceful and respectful environment. We therefore ask all guests to:

  1. Keep noise and voices at a considerate level at all times, particularly during the evening and night.
  2. Treat fellow guests, neighbours, staff and management with courtesy and respect.
  3. Refrain from racism, hate speech, bullying, harassment or any form of disrespectful behaviour.
  4. Use shared areas respectfully and leave them clean and free of personal belongings after use.

Children & Shared Items

Children are very welcome. For the safety of children and the protection of our shared amenities, we ask that adults supervise children when using the toys, Lego, books, card games and colouring materials provided.

Please ensure that:

  1. Toys, games and books are used responsibly and returned to their designated places after use.
  2. Children are supervised when using colouring pens and pencils to prevent marks or damage to walls, floors, furniture or bedding.
  3. Any damage caused by children during the stay is reported to management. Guests may be responsible for the associated cleaning, repair or replacement costs.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep these items enjoyable for future guests.

Environmental Responsibility

We encourage all guests to help us conserve our resources by:

  1. Placing all rubbish in the bins provided and keeping the property free of litter.
  2. Conserving water and electricity wherever possible.
  3. Switching off lights, heaters, appliances and other electrical items when they are not required.

Safety & Security

For your safety and the security of the property:

  1. Ensure the unit is locked whenever you leave.
  2. Keep valuables and personal belongings safely secured.
  3. Take care of your belongings when using shared or common areas.
  4. Report any security concerns to management immediately.

General House Rules

For the comfort and safety of everyone:

  1. No smoking or vaping indoors. Smoking is permitted only in appropriate outdoor areas. Please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
  2. No pork or alcohol is permitted on the premises. Daarut Taskeen is exclusively Halaal.
  3. Please respect the privacy, space and peaceful enjoyment of our neighbours.
  4. Only registered guests are permitted on the premises. Unauthorised visitors or overnight guests are not permitted without prior approval from management.
  5. Check-in: 2:00 PM
  6. Check-out: 9:30 AM

Late Check-Out

Late check-out is subject to availability and prior approval from management.

The following fees apply:

  • 1–2 hours: R500
  • More than 2 hours: R1,000

Unauthorised late check-outs may result in additional charges where they interfere with cleaning, preparation or the arrival of the next guest.

Before You Leave

Before checking out, please ensure that:

  1. All personal belongings have been removed from the unit.
  2. The unit is left reasonably clean and tidy.
  3. Toilets are flushed and handles are lifted where applicable.
  4. The stove is switched off.
  5. The geyser is switched off.
  6. The gas supply is switched off.
  7. Heaters are switched off.
  8. Any damage, breakages, missing items or maintenance issues are reported to management before departure.

Your assistance allows us to prepare the unit properly for the next guest.

Assumption of Risk & Indemnity

By entering and using the Daarut Taskeen City Unit and its facilities, guests acknowledge that they do so at their own risk.

Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves, accompanying children, personal belongings and valuables during their stay.

Daarut Taskeen, its owners and management shall not be held responsible for loss, theft, injury or damage arising from a guest’s failure to take reasonable care or comply with the applicable safety and house rules, to the extent permitted by law.

Non-Compliance with House Rules

We reserve the right to take appropriate action where guests fail to comply with these house rules or behave in a manner that negatively affects the property, neighbours, staff or other guests.

Serious or repeated breaches may result in termination of the stay without refund, where applicable, and the guest may be declined future accommodation at Daarut Taskeen.

Things to Do

Deck

The deck is a wonderful place to enjoy sunrise, sunset, moonrise, moonset and local wildlife.

For everyone’s safety, please supervise children carefully while they are on the deck, particularly around the gates and edges.

Tennis Court

The tennis court is located straight past the shop.

Tennis bats and balls are available in the lounge for guests to enjoy. Please return all equipment after use.

Library

The library is located opposite the tennis court and offers a quiet space to browse and relax.

Please return books to their designated places after use.

Hiking Trails

Enjoy the surrounding area by exploring the nearby hiking trails.

A trail is available near the shop and tennis court, with an alternative route accessible via Sotte Pad.

Please take appropriate care when walking in the area and remain aware of your surroundings and local wildlife.

Beach Access

There are two options for accessing the beach:

Option 1: Main Beach

The main beach is accessed from the parking area near the old community centre.

Simply park in the designated area and walk from the parking area towards the beach entrance.

Option 2: Fishermans Path Beach — Preferred

For a quieter and more convenient beach access point:

  1. Continue towards the main beach turn.
  2. Just before the main beach turn, turn right into Petunia Street.
  3. Continue to the cul-de-sac.
  4. Follow the path on the left towards the beach.

Please exercise caution when using beach paths and supervise children at all times.

Respect & Care of the Home

We kindly ask that all guests:

  1. Treat the property, furniture, appliances and amenities with care. Guests may be responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing items that are damaged or broken during their stay.
  2. Keep the home reasonably clean and tidy.
  3. For your comfort and the best sleeping experience, we recommend showering before bed.
  4. Report any maintenance, damage or repair issues to management as soon as possible.
  5. Use toiletries, cleaning products and other complimentary essentials thoughtfully and responsibly.

  3. Please conserve water and electricity wherever possible.
  4. Switch off lights, heaters and appliances when they are not required.

Safety & Security

For your safety and the protection of the property:

  1. Lock the house whenever it is unoccupied.
  2. Keep valuables safely secured.
  3. Take care of your personal belongings when using common or shared areas.
  4. Please remain aware of your surroundings, particularly when outdoors, as this is a natural conservation environment.

General House Rules

  1. No smoking or vaping indoors. Cigarette butts must not be discarded in the garden, bush or surrounding areas. Please keep cigarette butts in your own suitable container and take them with you when you depart.
  2. No pork or alcohol consumption is permitted on the premises.
  3. No loud noise or disruptive behaviour is permitted. Please be considerate of neighbours and other guests at all times.
  4. Respect the privacy, peace and space of our neighbours.
  5. Only registered guests are permitted on the property. Unauthorised visitors or overnight guests are not permitted without prior approval from management.
  6. Check-in: 2:00 PM
  7. Check-out: 9:30 AM

Late Check-Out

Late check-out is subject to availability and prior approval from management.

The following fees apply:

  • More than 2 hours: R1,000

Unauthorised late check-out may result in additional charges, particularly where it affects cleaning or preparation for arriving guests.

Daarut Taskeen Beach House is situated within a natural conservation environment. By entering and using the property and its facilities, guests acknowledge that they do so at their own risk.

Guests are responsible for taking reasonable care of themselves, accompanying children, personal belongings and valuables during their stay.

Guests are expected to follow all safety instructions and house rules and to exercise appropriate caution when using outdoor areas, hiking trails, the deck, beach access routes and other facilities.

Important: Conservation Area & Wildlife

Please remember that Daarut Taskeen Beach House is situated in a conservation area, and wildlife may occasionally enter or pass through the property.

For your safety:

  • Do not approach, touch or attempt to capture wild animals.
  • Do not feed wildlife.
  • Supervise children when outdoors.
  • Keep doors and appropriate gates closed where necessary.
  • Exercise caution when walking through gardens, bush and natural areas.

Please do not attempt to handle, approach or kill the snake.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

Our house rules are in place to protect our guests, our neighbours, our property and the natural environment surrounding Daarut Taskeen.

Failure to comply with the house rules may result in additional charges for damage or cleaning, termination of a stay where appropriate, and/or refusal of future bookings.

Serious or repeated breaches of the rules may result in the guest being declined accommodation at Daarut Taskeen in the future.
